silver feathers printed on black paper look as if feathers and leaves are caught in a windstorm during the cold of winter. these feathers are captured in oil based, silver metallic ink on black paper which is machine made in Thailand. the pulp is harvested from sustainably-grown mulberry trees and Kozo plants and has mango leaf inclusions. it is 35 gsm, which is on the thinner side, but perfect for framing.

for those who work with the elements, feathers may represent air, the element of the mind, intellect and communication. this element can only be seen through its interaction with the other elements (earth, water and fire), even though it completely surrounds us. essential to life, as it contains oxygen, is also helps fertilize the earth by spreading seeds. on the other hand, it can also destroy life when it becomes too strong, uprooting trees, homes, moving water too far inland… it is in the balance of elements that we find peace.

these are artist proofs from a limited run printed in December of 2023. the paper is hand-torn with deckled edges and measures 8” x 9.5”. each print is titled and signed in pencil. they are marked down as some have a smudge of ink from the block, on one, the paper has a slight tear on the side, but one won’t notice it in a frame.
