vampire repellent journal - limited edition!

$14.00

Before I hit you with some fun facts about garlic, let me give you the short version of the journal details… These are hand-printed from a hand-carved lino block. Each journal is hand-bound with 32 pages of cream colored paper and measures 4.75” x 6.5”. Choose from plain or lined paper. There are only EIGHT of these available!!!! Please choose from plain or lined paper at checkout.

Garlic, or Allium sativum, has been used as food flavoring and medicine for thousands of years. Sulphur compounds contribute to the smell and taste of garlic, which is believed to have evolved as a defense mechanism so critters wouldn’t eat the plant. Sulphur is metabolized as a different compound which can not be digested. It is transferred to our blood, and carried to our lungs and skin. It is believed to be a mosquito repellent as it comes through your pores, which is pretty cool. While there are ways to reduce the after effects of bad breath and body odor, I say embrace it. You never know when you’ll come in contact with a vampire. Wear the odor with pride! Why you may even ward off a werewolf or demon too!

Aside from helping to treat the common cold, lower the risk of stomach cancer and lower blood pressure, the sticky juice within the bulb cloves can be used as an adhesive to mend porcelain or glass. I am delighted to learn of the many uses for something my mind saw as a cool thing to make a lino-cut of. Let’s admit it, these bulbs have some lovely curves!

The eco-friendly information: the signatures (pages inside the journal) are acid free 70lb, text paper. The covers are made from grocer kraft paper with a raw finish and are FSC® Certified, Green-e Certified, Green SealTM Certified, and made with 30% or more Post-Consumer Fiber. They are printed with was miscible, oil based relief inks. They are bound together with linen thread.

If you read this far, you deserve a gold star! xo, kim
